Sacramento Zoo

Get wild at the Sacramento Zoo, a treasure with more than 500 native, exotic and endangered animals from around the globe. Set on 14.5 acres in William Land Park, the Sacramento Zoo features thrilling animal exhibits - from mammals to birds to amphibians - and inspires conservation awareness. See amazing creatures like lions, tigers, jaguars, giraffes, zebras, red pandas, chimpanzees, and crocodiles. The Zoo offers exciting animal encounters, wildlife shows, safaris and tours.

What are the top attractions?


The Sacramento Zoo is home to over 500 amazing animals, and over 140 different species, including fan favorites like the lions, tigers, jaguars, giraffes, zebras, red pandas, chimpanzees, and crocodiles. When are the best times to visit the Zoo?


The best times to visit the Zoo are non-holiday Mondays, Saturday and Sunday mornings, or weekdays after 1 pm. Warm days in March and October are wonderful at the Zoo and not as crowded with school groups. During the hot summer, mornings are great times to see the animals as they are more active when it’s cooler.
